Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening and once again welcome to another Indy licious edition of Hazed & Confused.
The past week has been quite a busy one in the world of CHIKARA for news, personalized bobblehead, as the first round for the King Of Trios tournament has been announced. Also announced is the return of the Tag Team Gauntlet on the third night of the tournament. The 2008 Tag Gauntlet match featured an astonishing SEVENTEEN tag teams and went on for just over an hour, however the 2009 edition will only feature twelve teams,NBA- Celtics Beat Lakers In Game Five And Go Up 3-2 In The Final Series, a slight step down in numbers but sure to be an amazing match with some talented teams taking part.
To recap, the first round of King Of Trios is as follows:
1: Arik Cannon, Ryan Cruz & Darin Corbin [The F1RST Family] vs. Austin Aries, Ryan Drago & Tony Kozina [Team EPIC WAR]
2: El Generico, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson [Team PWG] vs. Amasis, Ophidian & Escorpion Egipcio [The Osirian Portal]
3: Claudio Castagnoli, Dave Taylor & Bryan Danielson [Team Uppercut] vs. Brodie Lee, Eddie Kingston & Grizzly Redwood [The Roughnecks]
4: Marshe Rockett, Trauma & Willie Richardson [Da Soul Touchaz] vs. Pinkie Sanchez, Greg Excellent & Beef Wellington [Team CZW]
5: Gran Akuma, Icarus & Chuck Taylor [Team F.I.S.T.] vs. Necro Butcher, Toby Klein & Brain Damage [Death Match Kings]
6: Jimmy Equinox Olsen, personalized bobbleheads, Lince Dorado & Helios [The Future is Now] vs. Kota Ibushi, KUDO & Michael Nakazawa [Team DDT]
7: Vin Gerard, STIGMA & Colin Delaney [The UnStable] vs. Al Snow, Iceberg & Glacier [The Cold Front]
8: Mike Quackenbush, Jorge Skayde Rivera & Johnny Saint [The Masters of a Thousand Holds] vs. Delirious, Hallowicked & Frightmare [Incoherence]
A damn good line up for the first round of the tournament, personalized bobbleheads, and predicting things gets abit easier now.
But one match I find hard to predict is Match 8 on the card. Reason being that I think Mike Quackenbush is on of the greatest Indy wrestlers at the moment, but also I m quite a big fan of Delirious & Hallowicked. A tough match to pick a definite winner from and could possibly be THE match of the first round.
But for arguments sake, personalized bobble heads, my predictions for the tournament would be as follows:
First Round:
1: Team EPIC WAR def The F1RST Family
2: The Osirian Portal def Team PWG
3: Team Uppercut def The Roughnecks
4: Team CZW def Da Soul Touchaz
5: Death Match Kings def Team F.I.S.T
6: The Future Is Now def Team DDT
7: The UnStable def The Cold Front
8: Incoherence def The Masters Of A Thousand Hold
Quarter Finals (following last years brackets of Winner of 1 Vs Winner of 2, etc)
1: The Osirian Portal def Team EPIC WAR
2: Team Uppercut def Team CZW
3: Death Match Kings def The Future Is Now
4: The UnStable def Incoherence
Semi Final
Team Uppercut def The Osirian Portal
The UnStable def Death Match Kings
Final
The UnStable def Team Uppercut
So, obviously I m going with The UnStable to win the tournament this year. With the tournament taking place next weekend, we wont have to wait too long to see how badly wrong I am at predicting things.
Also taking place at the tournament, and on Night 2, is an Inter Species Wrestling match for the ISW Title between current champion Player Uno and Twiggy. This is joined by a. Lethal Wrestling Alliance match between Pierre Abernathy & Evan Gelistico (The Submission Squad) who will be taking on Davey Vega & Gary the Barn Owl. (Don t worry, I have no idea who they are either, but a man with a gimmick of a Barn Owl MUST be awesome!)
As stated above, there is also the 12 Team Tag Gauntlet on Night 3, though at the time of writing only two teams have been announced to participate, that being Cheech & Cloudy and The Order Of The Neo Solar Temple (Ultramantis Black & Crossbones). At the moment, The Order are favorites to win considering Crossbones teamed with Hydra and made it to the last two teams in last years tournament, unfortunately losing to Demolition (thats right, THE Demolition!). The other teams will be announced before the tournament,Where To Get A Ladies Cardigan, custom bobblehead, though I would imagine if the past two years are anything to go by, some participants will remain unannounced and will be made up of teams from the trio s eliminated in the first round. Personally I m hoping for the inclusion of BLK Out (Ruckus & Sabian being the two from the group) and Super Smash Brothers.
Which nicely ties into the part I know most of you have been waiting for, customized bobbleheads, the Indy Interview!
Welcome to another Indy Interview here at Hazed & Confused, this week joining us is CHIKARA, CZW and IWS wrestler, and one half of the Super Smash Bros, Stupefied (Player Dos).
Stupefied, thank you for joining us this week.
We ve got a few questions for you about wrestling and your career and we shall finish up with a few random ones. Some of these have also been sent in by our readers
1) Firstly, for those who may be unfamiliar with you, custom bobbleheads, could you give us some background information about yourself?
I was trained by a man named Wayne Cryderman (Wayne was trained by Al Snow) and I started my career in the Canadian Pro Wrestling and carried on training there. Then I quickly started working in IWS ((International Wrestling Syndicate) and everywhere in Quebec and Ontario.
2) What do you consider to be UNIQUE about yourself that differentiates you from other wrestlers?
I think its because usually I am a serious wrestler but I can also be completely stupid in the ring and with my interaction with the fans,The Real Deal With Atlanta Falcons Head Coach!
3) Who do you consider to be the most influential people on your wrestling career?
Kevin Steen and El Generico, mainly because they ve both been a great help in the ring and backstage for me.
4) Which wrestlers do you see as being an inspiration to the wrestling business?
I don t really know...I think to be honest that everybody has been a inspiration for someone.
5) What do you consider to be the greatest advice you have received in the wrestling business and from whom?
Pretty much every wrestler I met in my debut in the business took the time to tell me that, I will get hurt physically and mentally a lot and usually for no money!...just don t quit!
6) What would you see as being highlights in your career to date?
For now,Hammer Thyme, I think its when SSB (Super Smash Bros) won the Chikara Tag title and when SSB made our debut in ROH, it was only as dark match, but its a start!
7) Five years from now, where would you like to see your wrestling career?
I don t know... I think if I can live only with doing wrestling all over the world... I think that would be pretty nice!
8) What type of training/conditioning do you do for wrestling?
I workout three to four times a week, around two hours each time, plus a few hours in the ring.
9) What do you consider to be the best thing about being a wrestler?
Its because with wrestling, everything is possible!
10) What are your thoughts on the movie The Wrestler and its portrayal of the Indy circuit?
The movie was really good plus it showed how hard it is in the Indy circuit....Its just too bad they show more of the negative side to it than anything else...
11) Are there any companies that you haven t yet worked for that you would like to?
I would like to work again for ROH and also like to start at PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerrilla).
12) Who have you had the most fun working with or teaming with?
My current partner, Player Uno and also the original Mistico Incognito
13) And who, that you haven t worked or teamed with yet would you like to?
AJ Styles is someone that I would really like to work with.
14) How did you come up with your gimmick and ring name?
The gimmick came just naturally and the name was done at the beginning as a stupid joke... The Player Dos name came more as an addition for SSB with Player Uno.
15) With the economic crisis in the US, has this affected your amount of bookings or the amount of people turning up to shows that you have noticed?
Not for now...but maybe I m just lucky so,customize bobblehead.... we ll see.
And now for some less serious questions.
Favorite Movies,,?
Batman, Ironman or any super hero movies!!
Favorite Band and/or Song?
I m not a fan of a specific group...I like everything
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Random Thoughts
Jericho Vs Steamboat, Piper and Snuka at WM25??? What a let down. If Jericho doesn t destroy them all I shall be most disappointed.
Miz & Morrison for the Undisputed Tag Champs!
Check out CHIKARA s DVD of If The Airplane Is Snowed In just for the promo of Pinkie Sanchez with The Order Of The Neo Solar Temple. Funniest Ive seen in a while.
Ultramantis Black is definitely one who never breaks Kayfabe, even at fellow CHIKARA wrestler Stigma s wedding, he was photographed in official wedding pictures with his mask on. As was Stigma, custom bobblehead, which makes for quite an amusing wedding photo.
Team Blondage is back, custom bobbleheads!!!! *does a dance in excitement*
